Dear CEC members,
My name is Etienne Mason, I have been a board member since 2023, and and I am happy to author my first edition of the CEC’s membership newsletter, eFlash!
Funding. The SOCAN Foundation has confirmed $30,000 in core funding for 2025, maintaining the same level of support since 2023. We are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment, which helps sustain the CEC.
The CEC’s Discord Server! The CEC Discord server is live! This new space allows anyone to exchange ideas, share projects, and engage in discussions about electroacoustic music. It also includes dedicated channels for sharing events, calls for submissions and resources. Whether you’re looking to collaborate or stay informed, we invite you to join the conversation. Nominations to the CEC’s Board of Directors. Board Nominations are now open, and we encourage all interested members to apply! You can nominate yourself or someone else through the online form. This is a great way to contribute to the CEC’s mission and help shape its future. The deadline for nominations is May 25. 1[1. JTTP 2025 — Call for Works. The Canadian Electroacoustic Community is pleased to announce Jeu de temps / Times Play 2025, the 26th anniversary coordinated by the CEC in support of the young and emerging generation of electroacoustic artists from or living in Canada. The project includes five main prizes as well as seven thematic awards. Submission details will be announced shortly.
New CEC Honorary Members. The CEC Honorary Member selection process is nearing completion. The Focus Group has finalized its recommendations, which will be reviewed by the board before the final announcement in the next update.
