JTTP Concerts

Works by last year’s JTTP winners were presented at concerts in Saskatoon, Edmonton, Toronto, and Montréal. In addition, the CEC’s strategy for the promotion of public workshops was launched with a workshop by JTTP winners Michele Selvaggi and Justin Tatone at Pulsworks Audio Arts, Saskatoon.
As is tradition since 2014, Akousma presented JTTP work in October last year: Vivian Li’s Sonic Memories of Fleeting Times (2025). Work from amongst the recent winners of the 2026 edition of JTTP will be presented in the upcoming edition of Akousma (October 2026). In addition, the JTTP winners received radio play on a number of national and international stations.

JTTP Bandcamp

The CEC has also launched a Bandcamp page, on which the annual JTTP compilations will now be released online. The 2025 compilation is available here: https://cec-jttp.bandcamp.com/album/jttp-2025-prizewinning-works

eContact!

As mentioned at last year’s AGM, one of the top priorities for this year was the revival of the CEC’s eContact! journal. This is well in hand, with a revised format and a ’relaunch’ issue scheduled for January 2027, simultaneously with a refresh of the CEC’s online presence.

RNASO Status

In response to the current period of significant financial uncertainty, the board proposes to move the CEC towards certification as a Registered National Arts Service Organisation (RNASO). This would allow the CEC to accept donations and offer tax receipts, in a similar manner to registered charities. We will very shortly be holding a dedicated members meeting to discuss this change, at which members can discuss and raise any questions or issues about this proposed change.
