A Canadian citizen since 1974, David Keane was born in Ohio in 1943. He taught theory and composition at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) and was director of the electroacoustic studio. His compositions have been presented in concert, on the stage, radio and television in many countries, and encompass work in most traditional forms — from orchestral and chamber music to opera, electroacoustics, experimental and multidisciplinary presentations. He is an associate of the Canadian Music Center, a member of the Canadian League of Composers and, as well as being a founding member of the Canadian Electroacoustic Community (CEC), was on the Board of Directors from 1987-93.
