Larry Lake obtained three degrees (B.Mus., M.Mus., M.Ed.) from the University of Miami. His postgraduate study was at the Southern Illinois University (composition) and at the University of Toronto (composition and musicology). Doctoral work at the University of Toronto was abandoned for gainful employment with the CBC. His works have represented Canada at the International Rostrum of Composers and the World Music Days of the International Society for Contemporary Music. His music has been recorded on seven labels and has been performed and broadcast in more than thirty countries. He is a founding member and artistic director of the Canadian Electronic Ensemble, a member of the Arts and Letters Club and a voting member of the Canadian Music Centre. He is currently chair of the Ontario Regional Council of the Canadian Music Centre and a member of the executive of the CMC’s national board.
