Hello,

I’d like to take a brief minute to bring you up to date with all the activity currently taking place at the CEC.

The CEC’s website is where a good deal of the CEC’s efforts are going, and it will take time to build the pillars upon which the site is based, but if you were to look at it right now you’d find a very good deal of music and words from Canadians and around the world.

At the moment, the CEC board is preparing a Millenium Fund grant proposal for a 12 cd project (past/present/future). It is looking like a really good project, and I am hoping the CEC is successful.

As well, the CEC recently was awarded some money from the Canada Council for the web magazine eContact! and to do a second WEBradio project, a little bit of funding has come from the SOCAN Foundation to put clips from DISContact! II onto the website, and the CHRC has awarded the CEC another intern project. Every little bit counts, and these displays of support are very encouraging.

PeP is gearing up for PRESENCE II, and already a good number of people have expressed their interest in participating. There is still some space left…

Yves Gigon will be continuing as the Administrator and Webmaster.
