“Élan B” is the second work in the series “I/O Cuisinart”; the first was “Srivox Filonga” (1988). It was commissioned by Arraymusic for Henry Kucharzyk who requested a virtuoso keyboard performance work for Yamaha DX7II and Akai S900 sampler. All the DX voices and S900 samples were created by the composer. The concept of “Élan B” is a work which moves from precise fingerings and patterns into global textural complexes. The intent is to create an expansion of materials in different dimensions simultaneously. JC
