Composer and producer Michael C. Maguire has created a quirky postmodern hybrid that combines classical, pop, jazz, electroacoustic and world music. He works primarily in a multi-track environment combining live recording, sampling, synths, exotic plugins and digital editing possibilities. The finished product usually consists of a rigid, multi-layered construct that is mathematically proportioned to reflect the musical thrust of each individual work’s raison d’être. His fourth CD, Saturation Velocity (Albany Records, 2020), features a work for solo cello and CPU (Sade auf Kashmir) and another for solo piano and CPU (A Teenage Dream). His third CD, Nothing Left to Destroy, was released on Innova/Naxos, in 2011, while his second CD, Trash of Civilizations, was released on Innova/Naxos in 2009 (nominated in the Grammy quarter-finals for Best Classical CD and Best Chamber Music Performance). Finally, his first CD, Meta-Conspiracy, was released on John Zorn’s label, Tzadik, in 2007.
