Jaël: Prelude is a string duet for 2 violins that introduces a suite of songs and interludes. The songs recount the Biblical story of the betrayal and murder of Sisera by Jaël. The Prelude is organized tightly around intervals of seconds. The following songs are based on, in order, harmonies of thirds, forths and fifths, and tritones. This suite was a composition project at Concordia University for Professor Wolfgang Bottenberg. Jaël: Prelude was part of the Volute 1993 compact disc.
