Three Women (or I Married a Theremin from Outer Space) thickly layers samples of female voices — spoken and sung, guitar, and FM-synthesizers. The structure is narrative with a long build to a pre-climax, followed by a pause before a final climax and a quiet fade away. A pseudo-Theremin sound — a sample of a real voice — dominates the two climaxes as it emerges from the underlying layered atmosphere of voices and ear-candy. The Theremin creates a disembodied, female-like sound, but it doesn't pause to breathe. It can be quite terrifying. The voices were provided by Karen Melady, Sue Richer, Della Topham.
