“Fantaisie” is a free and subjective look at 50 years of French national radio broadcasting. To prepare this production I spent over one month in the Sound Archives, researching and seeking in this extraordinary tape-bank the elements that I found evocative, that brought back good memories or that quite simply seduced me with their color or their musical value. Much like a radio program, I tried to create a range of contrasting moods and feelings to capture that special and magical quality of radio sound which lies beyond reference. «Fantaisie»: the ideal form (or rather non-form) in this respect, for it is pure, unbridled invention.
