This piece continues the line of work adopted in Hora Harmonica, Dies Harmonica, and — in purely graphical form — Calendario Armonico. It consists in subdividing a given subaudio period in harmonic parts and in rendering the resulting rhythmic structure audible through pitches following the same ordering. While the forementioned works use the first 12 harmonics of the chosen subaudio and audio fundamentals the rhythmic structure of Octo in Primis results from the subdivision of the fundamental period, 8 minutes, in harmonic parts corresponding to the prime numbers from 7 to 47. The pitches assigned to the resulting periods are part of the overtone series of 20,83 Hz (the 10 000th overtone of the 8-minute period). They, too, correspond to the prime numbers from 7 to 47. AM
