Rumeurs. A rumor is this noise in the air. Fleeing we seek to capture it, for fear that it concerns us, that it holds its part of unadmitted truth. The piece oscillates endlessly between sound and meaning without ever resolving to choose one or the other. Here and there, sounds reach us like faint echoes of the world. If you believe you hear things that concern you, why worry? After all they are but rumors… and if you listen carefully, you may find the key. (Place de Ransbeck). This is a small place in Ohain, Belgium, home of studio Métamorphoses d'Orphée where the piece was produced in June 1987. The stay in Belgium was made possible by a grant from the Accessibilité program of the ministère des Affaires culturelles du Québec. RN
