The three pieces of the Tryptique were written at various times for demonstration and teaching purposes in my classes. Aside from that function, they are indicative of my interest in exploring the potential of a very small analog studio at the University of Guelph. The centerpiece is my personal favorite. In it I discovered a sense of rhythmic freedom from metric organization as well as a fusion of the traditional melodic-harmonic dimensions of acoustic music. CMW
