Extensions, for electronic flute, invokes several orders of virtuosity which extend the range of solo flute performance. The flutist must utilize a wide range of tone production; mediate between appositions of moods; and respond to, as well as introduce, live signal processing which is controlled by the composer. The resultant interaction approaches a type of monadic ensemble.
