Stéphane Roy has received prizes and mentions in several national and international competitions, and his works have been played many times in Europe and North America. He is the author of several articles and a book on the analysis of electroacoustic music (l’Harmattan, coll. Univers musical, Paris, 2003), for which he received the Prix Opus for book of the year in 2005, and holds a Doctorat in Electroacoustic Composition and a Ph.D. in Musicology from the Université de Montréal. Having taught electroacoustic analysis at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal until 2004, today Stéphane Roy manages the grant programmes for orchestras and ensembles playing classical and contemporary music at the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. He is an Associate Composer at the Canadian Music Centre (CMC) and his works have been published on various labels, including empreintes DIGITALes.
