Jean Routhier has a sound-based practice encompassing soundwalks, manipulated field recordings, acousmatic works, live performances and installations. Interested in the gap between silences or the physical and emotional reaction of listener, Routhier’s productions revolve around our common expectations toward what can be musical patterns. He was in residence with Vancouver-based theatre company Boca Del Lupo in 2012 for the creation of The Voyage (with Carey Dodge) and has an upcoming exhibition of one of his pieces from the series Une Suite de Temps-Mort at Open Space gallery, Victoria BC.
