Border is the soundtrack to an installation about the Laredo, Texas — Nuevo Laredo, Mexico region. The installation was never realized.
The hour-long composition floats through sonic textures and ambiences that try to evoke a feeling of a borderland. Because the composer was “under-financed” at the time, and because people cross borders usually for economic reasons, the source sounds refer to money: salt, coins. Other sounds include water, trucks, helicopters.
