Wende Bartley is a Toronto-based composer, sound artist and sound healer whose work encompasses electroacoustic, vocal and instrumental music for concert, music-driven theatre, opera, radio drama, and soundtracks for dance, film and video. She has received numerous awards and grants, and her work is performed internationally and appears on the empreintes DIGITALes label, among others. She has composed several works for 8-channel surround environments, including the award winning music theatre work The Girl with no Door on her Mouth. Her current work, entitled The Temple Project, explores the relationship between voice and body, ancient sacred sites, and mythological story. She has taught courses in soundart at OCAD and the University of Ottawa.
