The ISCM World Music Days 1996 will take place from 7-14 September within the framework of "Copenhagen Cultural Capital of Europe". Special themes of the festival will be music theatre and interactive computer music.

North/South Consonance Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion and performance of music by living composers. Call for scores to be performed in the 1995-96 season. Of the compositions recommended for performance, one will be possibly selected for recording on a CD issued by the North/South Label.

EDVARD GRIEG MEMORIAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG COMPOSERS
In cooperation with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, the Oslo Grieg Society invites young composers from all over the world to take part in this competition in memory of Edvard Grieg.
Category: Compositions must consist of 3 to 6 pieces for solo piano; 8 to 15 minutes in total duration. Any genre, form and style. These conditions are based on Grieg's Opus 3 Poetic Tone Pictures.
Restrictions: Scores must be submitted anonymously, with a titled envelope containing photo, cv, and notes on the work. Composers must be under 25 years old.
Prize: Prize: Study tour to Oslo, London, Berlin, New York, or Moscow. Concert performance and broadcast by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.

Category: Instrumentation: violin and marimba duo; violin, marimba and clarinet trio; violin, marimba and double bass trio. Duration: 7 - 15 minutes.
Restrictions: Submit neatly copied individual parts and/or two scores of duo works or three scores of trio works; a cover letter with name, address, phone number, title, notes about the piece and a bio; a stamped self-addressed envelope.

5TH INTERNATIONAL ELECTRO-VIDEO CLIP COMPETITION
This competition, organised by the Association pour la création et la recherche électroacoustiques du Québec (ACREQ), is aimed at electroacoustic composers and independant video artists who are searching for new links between images and sound. All audio and video artists are invited to submit a miniature audio and/or video work.
Category: 2 categories: Audio (solo tape); Video (sound-image)
Restrictions: Maximum of 2 works per category. Duration between 2 and 3 minutes.
Prize: AUDIO - jury prize: 500$; concert public prize: 250$; Société Radio-Canada radio public prize. The works of the finalists in the audio category will be put out on CD. VIDEO - 2 jury prizes; 1 concert public prize. The ten audio and video works in nomination will be performed during the gala evening which will close the competition.

In April, 1996, San Francisco will host the third transpacific festival of contemporary sound practices. Organizers are seeking proposals for creative works based in sound.
Category: Works can be performances, exhibitions, media and network projects, public artworks, radio pieces, or take other forms. Submissions of recordings are also requested for listening rooms that will provide a continuuous presentation of sound pieces. Abstracts are sought for symposia consisting of paper presentations and panel discussions.
