Daniel Leduc - Ombre
Ombre - 14:50
Ombre is a work conceived especially for an "acousmatique" listening. Written in 1989-90, the piece was produced in the 16-track studio of the Music department of the Université de Montréal.
Ombre (Shadow) illustrates a short story by Edgar Allan Poe, translated into french by Charles Baudelaire. The composer feels that, while the action unfolds on Ancient Greece, this story by the great 19th century author remains of great relevance today.
This piece was awarded the Second Prize, in the electroacoustic category, in the Young Composer's National Competition organized by La Société Radio-Canada and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1990.
