Alastair Bannerman (1972) complète actuellement un doctorat en composition à l’Université de Birmingham. Son travail lui a valu des mentions spéciales aux concours EAR (1997) en Hongrie et au Prix Noroit (1998).

The title of this work, and the spoken and sung text derive from Shakespeare’s play The Tempest. In th’air or th’earth was realised in the Electroacoustic Studios of the University of Birmingham, UK, between 1996 and 1997. I would like to acknowledge the assistance of Lys Appleby and Selina Ross, who provided the vocal material.

Alastair Bannerman (1972) has been working towards a PhD in music composition at the University of Bimingham since 1995. His work has been awarded special mentions at the Hungary EAR competition (1997) and at the Prix Noroit (1998).
